Trauma Informed Practice through Play Therapy

I had the opportunity to attend a weekend workshop with Dr. Cathy Malchiodi, author of “Trauma-Informed Practices with Children and Adolescents.”  Current research informs us about the enormous importance of ‘play’ as the conduit for child development, learning, problem solving, connection, joy, language development, and therapeutic engagement.  This video highlights the power of play therapy in supporting children in telling their story.
